Run the trails. Finish at Corscombe Court. Stay for the fête.

Join us in Corscombe, West Dorset, on Saturday 12 June 2027 for the first Corscombe Trail Races — a small, friendly community trail-running event taking place alongside the annual Corscombe Village Fête.

The 11K race starts at 10:00, followed by the 5K at approximately 10:30.

Race HQ, the start and finish will be based at Corscombe Court, in the heart of the village. It gives the races a distinctive rural setting and brings runners straight back into the centre of the event at the end of their run.

Event parking will be provided separately in a signposted field off Norwood Lane, with runners and supporters following the marked route to the race hub.

Two trail races through West Dorset countryside

Choose between an approximately 11K trail race and a 5K trail race, both taking runners through the rolling countryside around Corscombe.

Expect a mixture of fields, tracks, public footpaths and short sections of quiet rural road, with naturally uneven surfaces and the changing conditions that come with countryside running.

Detailed course maps, elevation information and downloadable GPX files are available on the Courses section of the website.

A proper village race

We are deliberately keeping the first Corscombe Trail Races small.

The two adult races have a combined limit of just 200 runners, giving us the opportunity to create the atmosphere of a proper village race rather than a large commercial mass-participation event.

Small does not mean cutting corners.

The aim is to provide a well-organised trail event with proper race timing, clear course marking and marshalling, a controlled start and finish, published results, finisher medals and the practical support runners should expect on race day.

What’s included

Your race entry includes:

• A fully marked and marshalled trail course
• Race timing and published results
• A finisher medal
• Water and light refreshments at the finish
• On-course aid provision where required
• Medical and first-aid provision
• Event parking
• Race-day toilet facilities
• Start and finish event facilities
• Access to the Corscombe Village Fête afterwards
• TRA licence application submitted – approval pending. Event to be held under UK Athletics Rules subject to licence approval.

Final details about aid stations, refreshments and race-day facilities will be confirmed in the pre-race information sent to entrants.

Come for the trails. Stay for the fête.

The race is only part of the day.

Both routes bring runners back to Corscombe Court and the village event hub, where the intention is that you do not simply collect your medal and head home.

Meet up with family and friends, recover after your race, enjoy the village atmosphere and stay for the fête.

The races and fête are being planned as one joined-up community day: bringing people into Corscombe, encouraging runners and supporters to spend time in the village, and creating an event that local volunteers, organisations and businesses can all be part of.

A community event

Corscombe Trail Races is being organised as a not-for-profit community event.

After event costs, liabilities and agreed reserves, any distributable surplus is intended to support FOSSA (Friends of Sticklands School Association), Little Acorns Preschool and the wider Corscombe village and fête.

Whether you are coming to race hard, try your first trail event, run with friends or simply enjoy a morning in the Dorset countryside, the idea is simple:

Come for the trails. Finish at Corscombe Court. Make a day of it.
